Vanesa Stoynova is a Bulgarian-American filmmaker, writer, and photographer based in Chicago. Previously, they have written, directed, and produced short films that explored complicated queer relationships, including their thesis film Loverboy, which screened at the 41st Reeling Film Festival in Chicago. They were a finalist in the Fleder-Rosenberg Screenwriting Competition at Boston University, from where they graduated with a degree in film. Their unproduced screenplays have received several accolades internationally, including Best Screenplay from Lisbon’s Cinalfama Film Festival.

Currently, they are interested in the abstract and experimental.
